Booked In, Or Thinking About It? A Little Preparation Makes The Whole Experience Easier — For You & For Your Artist. Here’s Everything We’d Tell You In The Studio, In One Place.
Booking Your Tattoo Appointment
Have Your Idea Prepared
Attach Any Reference Photos Of Similar Tattoo Ideas Or Specific Tattoo Styles You May Like For Us To Base Your Design On.
If You Haven’t Found Anything Similar To Your Idea, Feel Free To Book A Free Consultation To Discuss The Design.
For Large Projects, Consultations Are Recommended To Get A Proper Size Idea, Chat Through The Details & Give You A Price Quote, As All Tattoo Prices Vary Massively Depending On How Much Detail You Are Looking For Or How Large The Piece Is.
Size & Placement
When Enquiring About A Tattoo, You Should Include A Rough Size Estimate In Inches Or Centimetres So We Can Give You A More Accurate Quote.
If You’re Unsure Of Exact Placement On The Body, We Can Try A Few Options On The Day Using The Stencil.
Dates & Times
Mention The Days Of The Week That Suit You Best. Late Evening Appointments Are Available On Thursdays & Fridays.
If You’re Getting Tattooed In The Summer, Make Sure To Book Your Appointment At Least Four Weeks Before A Sun Holiday, To Avoid Sun Exposure On A Fresh Tattoo.
Preparing Your Skin
It’s Important To Prepare The Area For Tattooing, Especially Dry Spots Like Hands, Knees & Elbows. Moisturise The Area Consistently For A Couple Of Weeks Before Your Appointment.
Avoid Using Any Products On The Day Of Your Appointment.
Do Not Shave The Day Before, As Your Skin Might Get Irritated — We Will Shave The Area Being Tattooed On The Day Anyway!
What To Wear
If You’re Getting A Tattoo On Your Back, Bring A Zipped Hoodie With You To Wear Backwards & Cover Your Front.
If Your Tattoo Is On Your Leg, Bring Shorts With You To Ensure Comfort & Access To The Area.
Planning Your Time Around The Appointment
Make Sure You Get A Good Sleep & Are Well Rested For Your Appointment.
If You’re Getting Your Hands Or Fingers Tattooed, It’s Good To Get It Done When You Have A Few Days Off Work Afterwards. Hand Tattoos Are Difficult To Heal & You Have To Keep Them Out Of Water.
If You’re Booked In For A Large Piece, Make Sure You’re Off Work The Following Day, As You Will Be Tired & The Area May Be Quite Tender.
It’s Best To Avoid High Amounts Of Caffeine, & You Must Avoid Alcohol Before Your Appointment.
Food & Hydration
Make Sure You Eat A Good Meal Before Your Appointment, & Bring High Sugar Snacks With You Just In Case You Start To Feel Weak.
Drink Lots Of Water & Bring Some With You. Stay Well Hydrated Before & During Your Session.
After Your Appointment
Once You’re Tattooed, The Healing Begins — & That Part Matters Just As Much. Our Tattoo Aftercare Guide Covers Everything From Removing Your Plaster To Moisturising, What To Avoid & How Long It All Takes.
