TATTOO AFTERCARE GUIDE
Your Tattoo Is A Little Work Of Art That Is Still Settling In, And The Healing Process Is Just As Important As The Tattoo Itself. With A Little Patience, Gentle Care, And Some TLC, Your Tattoo Will Heal Beautifully And Stay Looking Its Best.

THE FIRST FEW DAYS
Avoid Exposing The Plaster To Water For At Least 12 Hours. After This You Can Shower As Normal, As The Plaster Is Waterproof, But Prevent Soaking. Keep Your Dermalize Plaster On For At Least 3 Days If Possible.
Fluid Build-Up Is Completely Normal, Especially For Larger Or More Colourful Pieces. Over The Next Few Days You May Notice Ink, Plasma & Blood Collecting Underneath The Plaster. This Is Part Of Your Body’s Natural Healing Process.
If There Is A Large Amount Of Fluid Build-Up — For Example, If You Can Press The Plaster & Feel The Liquid Moving Around — Remove The Plaster Even If It Is Slightly Earlier Than The Recommended 3 Days. There Is No Need To Worry. As Long As Your Tattoo Remains Covered For The First 24 Hours, It Has Had The Protection It Needs.
If The Plaster Begins Peeling At The Edges, Carefully Trim Away Any Loose Sections To Prevent The Tattoo From Becoming Exposed. If The Tattoo Itself Becomes Exposed, Remove The Entire Plaster.
REMOVING YOUR PLASTER
Run Warm Water Over The Plaster For A Few Minutes To Loosen The Adhesive. Slowly Peel It Away Gently — This Is Often Easiest In The Shower.
If Your Tattoo Has Been Covered With Cling Film
Leave The Wrap On For Approximately 3 Hours. Remove The Wrap & Gently Wash Your Tattoo With Lukewarm Water.
Do Not Rewrap!!
Washing & Moisturising
After Removing Your Dermalize Or Cling Film Covering, Wash Your Tattoo Gently With Warm Water & A Mild, Fragrance-Free Soap. Pat Dry Using A Clean Towel Or Paper Towel — Do Not Rub!
Allow Your Tattoo To Completely Air Dry For 15 To 30 Minutes, Depending On The Size Of The Piece.
Apply A Thin Layer Of Tattoo Aftercare Cream, Available From Your Artist Or Online.
When Applying Aftercare, Warm The Cream Between Your Hands First, Then Gently Pat It Onto The Tattoo. Avoid Rubbing Or Applying Too Much Product.
Less Is More!! Over-Moisturising Can Soften Scabs & May Affect Healing.
Your Tattoo May Begin To Peel Or Scab During Healing — This Is Normal. Keep It Moisturised, Avoid Friction & Exfoliation, & Never Pick Your Scabs!!
What To Avoid
During The Initial Healing Period:
Avoid Swimming, Baths, Sunbathing, Perfume, Sunbeds & Soaking Your Tattoo In Water.
Avoid Exfoliating Products & Scrubbing The Tattoo.
Do Not Pick Or Scratch Your Tattoo, Even If It Becomes Itchy. A Gentle Tap Or Flick Of The Area Can Help Relieve Itching.
Avoid Tight Clothing Or Anything That Causes Rubbing & Friction.
Do Not Over-Apply Cream — Too Much Moisture Can Affect The Healing Process.
And Always
Always Wash Your Hands Before Touching Your Tattoo.
Pat Your Tattoo Dry — Never Rub!!
Keep Your Tattoo Protected From Sunlight. Once Healed, Always Use SPF 50+ To Protect Your Artwork.
Keep Your Tattoo Covered With Clothing When Exposed To Strong Sunlight During Healing.
Hand, Finger & Foot Tattoos
These Areas Can Be More Difficult To Heal Due To Constant Movement, Washing & Exposure.
During Healing, Avoid Harsh Chemicals & Prolonged Water Exposure. Take Extra Care When Washing Dishes, Cleaning, Or Working With Your Hands.
Keep In Mind That Hands, Fingers & Feet Are More Prone To Fading & May Require Future Touch-Ups.
Healing Time & Touch-Ups
Please Follow This Aftercare Routine For Approximately 6 Weeks, Or Until Your Tattoo Has Fully Healed.
Your Tattoo Includes One Complimentary Touch-Up (If Required) Within 3 Months Of Your Appointment. Contact Your Artist To Book Your Appointment.
